If you have to be without a gym for two months because of financial reasons, how can you maintain muscle mass in the best way?
Create an at home gym. Start small with whatever you can afford. Maybe a few dumbbells of the weight your used to lifting. For cardio you can do this inside with weight training or also find a park or a lake where you can walk jog run or bike. Strength training can not only be done at home but can be done better at home once you get the hang of how to do things. It will take a bit more discipline so try to find a time each day and schedule this is gym time.
Create a space, doesn’t have to be huge (but just so your not kicking walls or anything) yoga Mats weights and resistance bands sliders, bosu balls, whatever you want to use for this day. Think of the guys in the navy push-ups running fire drills body’s to die for, no gym. Google and research body weight workouts try planks, push-ups and at home workouts for strength training. Once you find what you like for your body and get on a strict schedule and stick to it everyday strength training this time, cardio this time, you may just find you prefer it and never go back because many times the machines add bulk that’s not needed and planks and body weight or dumbbell weight training has the potential to isolate small muscles you never use on standard gym equipment. Whatever it is your looking to do or used to doing you can do it at home and probably better. Many athletes prefer to workout at home and use the gym for just cardio which can be done anywhere.
Fresh air is good for your soul too. I read a study on people that walk or run near a body of water as instead of a gym actually have been proven to live an average of 5 years longer, so hey maybe it’s a good thing. Just try to stay motivated keep a strict schedule plan online videos and learn how to do things at home. Do research buy inexpensive weights and equipment so you won’t need the gym anyways may not even miss it once you get the hang of things…You can do with some adjustment. Good Luck 🍀💪🏻

Is 40 too late to start over?
It’s never too late. 40 is the new 20 and your only as old as you feel. Most people live well into their 80s. One day you will actually be old and you will look back on your life and think man I was in my prime at 40 best time of my life. I had it all my look my teeth, my non gray hair. When you do what kind of memories will you have to look back on? You should get out there start over at anything and everything you want to.
Try new things and start over. Put yourself out there. Dare to live your life excited about your new choices will bring. You should never become down on yourself for some random number. That number does not define you. Your spirit does. If it wants you to start over it’s because your spirit is young, so you will be forever young.
I do hope you enjoy your time now, your prime glory days while you were living in them. Focus on now and the future. 20s are too hard anyways. They call it the present, because it’s a gift. :) You may just be living in the best time of your entire life, you just don’t know it yet.

How can I tell if my trainer is knowledgeable and experienced?
Is fitness the trainers passion? If so they will love it and learn new and different techniques every day. If it’s just a job then you will probably just get the basics. You have to go to school to become certified so best to know that they are, if they work at a gym they are most likely. That will not make them a great trainer it just means they passed the course. This course takes time but it mainly focuses on the very basic principles, what muscles are called, and very basic exercises.
Its 2022 gyms been around a minute now, so I want the best newest workout that will give me results I want. Your trainer should know your goals and strategically plan workouts to do what you are wanting. Not basic gym machines because you can do that on your own.
Look at their body. Are they in shape? Most likey they are fit, but if someone is really passionate about fitness it will show on their body. And in their positive attitude and smile.
A good trainer will motivate and push you but with kindness and love. They should not be mean or loud or arrogant.
Your workouts will be exciting, and new and fun where you learn different things to do when your not with them.
Everyday should be different so you can learn as much as you can from their expertise, while you have them.
As trainers one goal is to teach you how to workout on your own as well, so learn everything you can from them. However if they can’t teach you anything you haven’t done or don’t know, they may not be as knowledgeable as you would like.
The majority of trainers do it to help people because they live eat sleep breath fitness. It’s their passion, their love, because the pay not the highest. However, if they are rude or have an attitude or rub you the wrong way, move on until you find the right fit. Gym time should be fun time.
